Sewer Inspections

The purpose of a sewer inspection is to determine the condition of the property's sewer line and to determine if the system is functioning as designed. Defects that are found will be described and repairs will be recommended, as necessary.

A standard inspection, for a single family residence, takes approximately one hour to complete. The sewer inspection includes a video of the sewer line as well as a report and a detailed explanation of the findings.

Our inspector will insert a video camera into the sewer line through the sewer cleanout or through a toilet. The cleanout may be located in the basement, crawlspace, roof or outside where the sewer line exits the home. If no obstructions are encountered, he will inspect from the cleanout to the tap (city connection). If problems with the line are found, we are able to accurately pinpoint the location and depth of the trouble area. The problem area may be marked on the ground surface.

Common sewer line problems are root intrusion, holes, bellies, cracks, off sets and pipe separation.

A sewer line, with defects, may have problems that do not currently affect the performance of the line. However, these defects may cause future problems leading to unexpected emergency repairs, which are typically costly.

We are a neutral third party inspection company. This means that we do not do repairs, nor do we receive referral fees from repair companies. Our sole motivation is your protection.
